Woman who triggered evacuation arrested

The woman investigators say was responsible for carrying a cigarette lighter shaped like a handgun into the Hillsborough County courthouse earlier this month has been arrested on several charges including battery on a law enforcement officer. Tampa police arrested Howronda Denise Overstreet, 31, shortly after 3 a.m. on 7th Avenue in Ybor City, according to arrest records. Last week investigators announced they would not file charges

against Overstreet, who unintentionally forced the evacuation of the courthouse on August 5. Overstreet is being held without bond at the Orient Road Jail, according to the HCSO website. She’s charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, two counts of obstructing an officer and violating a domestic violence injunction.
