Weekend race may cause travel delays

The 1,000 expected participants in the Fourth Annual Morton Plant Mease Triathlon may cause traffic jam in Clearwater and Belleair on Sunday. The course begins at 6:50 a.m. in Sand Key Park and will run through communities in Clearwater and Belleair. The following locations, bridges, and streets will be impacted from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. during the triathlon:   Sand Key Park – Palm Ave. – West Bay Dr. Sand Key Bridge – Turner Street – Belleair Causeway Bridge S. Gulfview Blvd. – Bay

Ave. Hamden Dr. – Druid Rd. W. Coronado Dr. – Druid Rd. S. Memorial Causeway Bridge – Belleview Blvd. Gulf Blvd. – Indian Rocks Rd. The triathlon begins with a one-third mile open water swim at Sand Key Park, and will continue with a 13-mile bicycling course through Clearwater Beach.
