Ok, I am one of those lucky individuals that received a ticket for watering my lawn outside of the “allowed” days. The power had gone off and I was not aware that the sprinkler system had starting flashing and was coming on in the middle of the night. I heard the doorbell ring about 11:00 pm and there was a Cape Coral cop standing at my front door telling me he has to give me a ticket since I answered the door. I said “excuse me, if I hadn’t answered the door what would have happened?” He said he could not have given me a ticket because I had to sign for it. That was awhile ago. Ticket was paid all was reset and life went on. I am now noticing however, that my grass seems to be dying while everyone
else around me is green, green and more green. It can’t be from the fertilizer as we all have our yards done. I started paying attention to the watering cycles and noted that most of the homes on my, street ?.?. 40th, are having their sprinklers come on EVERY SINGLE DAY. No wonder my grass is only green in spots that abut the property line where the water is on daily. What has happened to the enforcing of water restrictions for everyone? And another thing, how is it possible for the Golf Courses and car washes to use unlimited amounts of water when those are not ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. I would much rather see the hard working people have beautiful lawns that we spend so much time on than have a car wash and Golf Course take all of the water.
