USF’s Genshaft: No Golda Meir
USF President Judy Genshaft is one of several university leaders profiled in the summer issue of Jewish Woman magazine , a publication of the charitable organization Jewish Women universal.
In the editorial, Genshaft recalls growing up in Canton, Ohio, where her Russian immigrant father established what would become the largest independent meatpacking company in the country. Working in the family trade, “that’s how I knew I would
She says she "couldn’t do my job whether my husband wasn’t the primary caretaker" of their two adolescent sons. She plus says society around the world are sometimes surprised to meet here.
"They’re still not used to seeing women leaders, particularly younger or more appealing ones. I mean, I don’t look like Golda Meir.”
