Investigators say staged falla are part of a growing trend in Brevard County; six people have been arrested in just the last two months in the county for faking falls at supermarkets and gas stations, reports WFTV News in Orlando. Here’s one case. Johnella Howard, 72, and her caregiver Susan Snow, 68, attempt to fake a fall at Publix. The were arrested after agents saw an incriminating store surveillance video, reports WFTV News. In the video, Howard moves her foot back and forth on the ground where there appears to be some sort of spill. She then she gets on her hands and knees. After getting into a sitting position she takes time to fix

her hair before she lies down. Meanwhile, her caregiver, Snow, pushes the shopping cart down the aisle and searches for help. Once rescue crews get to the Merritt Island Publix, they take Howard away, reports WFTV News. According to WFTV News, two weeks later, the women faxed a later to Publix demanding $300,000 in cash due to injuries. One of the women even hand-delivered photos to the store. And what a fall from grace for these two elderly women: they now face up to 35 years in prison. Check out the video. Photo: WFTV News in Orlando More FloriDUH
