Two arrested for April murder

Hillsborough Sheriff’s detectives arrested two men early Saturday in connection with an April homicide. Deputies say Luis Omar Morales-Cora, 21, and Joseph Rodriguez Rivera, 19, both of Tampa, were arrested at Morales-Cora’s apartment on Gates Drive just after midnight Saturday. Morales-Cora and Rivera were both charged with second-degree murder for a stabbing that occurred at the Ascott Apartments on Bruce B. Downs Blvd. on

April 17th. Deputies say Morales-Cora and Rivera confronted Anthony Chatteron, 40, and began a fight over allegations that Chatteron had stolen some of their property. Chatteron was beaten and stabbed to death. According to detectives, the investigation is ongoing and a third suspect in the murder has not yet been identified.
