James Robert “Bob” Ward, is accused of fatally shooting his wife Diane Ward in the bedroom at their Isleworth mansion in Orlando on Sept. 21. Isleworth is the place Tiger Woods and his ex-wife called home. And Ward’s house was once owned by legendary golfer Arnold Palmer. Bob Ward has said that his wife was trying to kill herself and that he shot her by accident. Ward’s lawyer has suggested that Ward was trying to wrestle the gun away from Diane Ward when the

weapon fired, reports the Orlando Sentinel. The Wards were in severe financial distress at the time of the shooting. Their seven-bedroom, nine-bath home was being foreclosed on and Ward’s company, Land Resource, was in bankruptcy. The Ward’s home has since been auctioned and Ward moved to another residence in Isleworth. Trial date is set for Feb. 14 — Valentine’s Day. Photo: JOE BURBANK, ORLANDO SENTINEL More FloriDUH
