The superstar golfer was hurt in the wee hours when he backed his Escalade out of his driveway in the Isleworth gated community of Windermere , near Orlando, and hit a fire-hydrant then a tree. So happens that, on the same day, the Boca Raton-based National Enquirer hit the supermarket counters in the Orlando area with a front page story outing Woods’ alleged mistress. Woods and Nordegren And you thought the man has no personality? Whether the golf superstar’s Swedish wife, former nanny Elin Nordegren , had seen the Enquirer’ s story before she went outside to “help” Woods, as she claimed, is unclear. She told cops she broke the Escalade’s back window with a golf club so that he could get out. You don’t suppose the lacerations to Woods face, allegedly suffered in the accident, occurred after the wife caught up with her gossip reading? State troopers investigating the crash would love to know. But they were turned away from Woods property today as they arrived for a scheduled interview. According to a statement put out tonight, troopers will return tomorrow to talk to the couple. NE reporters tracked down the pretty blond Uchitel all the way down under – to an Australian hotel in which Woods was checked in during the Australian Masters in mid-November . Want more? An insider at the tab tells me an Enquirer reporter was shown lovey-dovey text-messages between Uchitel and Woods, and pictures of Uchitel and Woods together. Uchitel, however, tells me she’s not too happy about the hoopla. In an exclusive interview with Page2Live , she tells me she retained lawyers for a possible slander lawsuit against the tabloid. “The lawyers asked me not to comment about anything,” said Uchitel, who also boasted an affair with the married Bones star David Boreanaz , whose wife was pregnant at the time. “I’m looking to sue the National Enquirer . Their story is inaccurate. My reputation is being dragged through the mud and that’s not right.” Uchitel refused to answer any questions about her relationship, if any, with the soon-to-be Jupiter Island resident Woods, or the accident. In a letter to the Enquirer , Woods’ attorneys denied he’s having an affair. Woods and Nordegren have a two-year-old girl and nine-month-old boy. The golfer is putting the finishing touches on a $50 million-plus beachfront home on Jupiter Island, just north of West Palm Beach.
