Tea Party Planned For Aaronson

Weeks after upsetting the anti-government-spending Tea Party crowd, Palm Beach County Commissioner Burt Aaronson keeps getting the Boston Harbor treatment. On Tuesday, it could get worse. Aaronson in May drew the ire of the Tea Party movement after he questioned why more group members didn’t show up at a commission meeting when a national healthcare discussion was on the agenda. In the weeks that followed, Tea Party supporters flooded Aaronson’s office with e-mail, taking him to task for questioning their ability to turn out. Movement members have said they

plan to show up in person Tuesday to voice their displeasure with Aaronson. Aaronson, a prominent south county Democrat, has stood by his comments. In April, opponents of President Obama’s push for economic bailout money and other increased federal spending held tea party protests across the country – drawing on the symbolism of a 1773 protest by colonists who dumped tea into Boston Harbor to strike back at what they considered an unfair tax.
