Passengers piled off the Carnival Inspiration this morning with plenty of memories at sea, but none this trip from Cozumel. All cruises out of Tampa have now canceled trips to Mexico due to the threat of Swine Flu. “They said due to recommendations by the CDC and the situation in general that they made the decision they we weren’t going to Cozumel,” offered passenger Steven Kuzmanovich. Instead, passengers were refunded their docking fees for Mexico and spent an extra day on the water. “They didn’t make the decision until the last minute and it upset a few people,” Sue Combs recalled. Most passengers were understanding. “I was glad they made the decision,” Combs continued. However, some passengers were more than annoyed by the inconvenience. “This is something

we planned for for over a year, and then at the last minute found out we couldn’t go,” lamented Tammy Sutphin, who drove to Florida from Virginia for the cruise. “Would have liked to turn around and go back to Cayman but couldn’t.” “It really took a bummer off my trip because me and 10 friends came and planned on everything in Mexico for a full day,” John Roberts added. They may have missed Mexico, but some say it beats coming down with the Swine Flu. “I was a little upset, but at the same time, safety first. Wouldn’t want to get everyone sick and bring it back home,” Randy Lollis offered.
