It’s all smiles around the patio table for the Freeman family Sunday. Adam is back home for fathers day after serving a seven month tour in Iraq. “This is the first time I spend a Father’s Day with my father since I enlisted. So it’s been eight years. No, nine years,” said Adam Freeman. Time has flown by since Adam enlisted in the Marine Corps. But July, 2007 stood still. His father, Al, suffered a stroke just two weeks before Adam was supposed to be deployed overseas. “You really take for granted the opportunity you have with your family when you locally, or even the same country,” said Adam. “It’s Christmas all over again with Adam here. We’re glad that he’s

here and he’s safe. I’ll tell you, ‘we worried about him everyday when he was overseas,’” said Al, Adams Father. But the worry is over for the Freeman family. After several years in the Marine Corps and five tours of duty, Freeman is putting up the uniform and joining civilian life. “I think I got everything I could out of it. And I really feel I earned everything that I’m utilizing now,” said Adam. Having Adam home again means the family of five is back together. That means happy parents and a really proud father. Adam is enrolling at Brevard Community College and is pursuing a major in physics.
