Skull and bones found in Citrus County

Citrus County deputies are investigating the discovery of a human skull and bones. They say a work crew with Withlacoochee Electric found the skull yesterday in a wooded area near the intersection of West Fling Lane and South Suncoast Blvd. Today, investigators say additional human bones were found about 50 yards from where the skull was found. The skull has been turned over

the Leesburg Medical Examiner’s Office, hoping to identify who it was. Investigators say the bones found nearby appear to be from the same person, but need to confirm that through forensic testing. They say they don’t know yet whether foul play was involved in the person’s death.
