Sink: We don’t like it but we need the bailout

Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink said it was "very disappointing" that Congress losed out to pass the bailout on Monday.

"Nobody likes the legislation. Nobody likes everything it it," Sink said. "But given what the administration started with, which was ‘just give us a blank check for $750-billion dollars,’ it ended up certainly not being that."

"They scaled back the dollar amount. There has to be accountability in there. And we

have to get these markets regular, otherwise we’re going to be in a really, really serious situation," Sink said. "They’ve got to come back on Thursday with a plan that’s going to stabilize the markets and open up credit."

"They’ve got to come back on Thursday and do the responsible thing for our country and pass that bill," she said.
