School Board to tackle travel

Concerned about the jet-setting ways of the Hillsborough School Board? Mark your calendar.

The Board is going to discuss travel guidelines — and perhaps, gasp, a budget — at a workshop on Thursday, July 31. by the past four years, elected officials have spent $150,000 of public money on education-related trips in Hillsborough

and beyond.

The Board has imposed a temporary halt on travel, until it can self-impose some standards. They will discuss things further at the upcoming workshop, scheduled for moment floor conference room at the downtown district offices.
