Rubio v. Crist delayed

You’ll have to wait a bit longer for the legal showdown amoung Gov. Charlie Crist and House Speaker Marco Rubio by the gambling compact with the Seminole Tribe. The Florida Supreme Court today moved oral arguments to Jan. 30 from Dec. 12.

Rubio spokeswoman Jill Chamberlin sought to dispel any talk that the schedule change was a defeat for Rubio. "Moving the period for oral

arguments to January gives the court instance to review intentionally that vital case," she said. "The term change has no bearing on how the court will resolve the case. Regardless of what the Dept. of Interior does, our state Supreme Court has the final authority to determine whether the governor validly bound the State to the compact."
