Ronnie Brown a no-show at Tuesday practice

With coach Tony Sparano expected to update the status of Ronnie Brown’s ankle injury later in the day, Brown was noticeably absent Tuesday when the Dolphins went through their only full-scale workout in preparation for Thursday night’s game at Carolina. Brown was last seen on crutches in the locker room Monday. His failure to participate in Tuesday’s practice makes it a near certainty he won’t play Thursday. Tight end Anthony Fasano, who missed Sunday’s game with a knee problem, was not in pads and doing light drills on the sidelines, while guard Justin Smiley (shoulder) was working with the second team

offensive line. Nate Garner was once again at Smiley’s left guard spot. Safety Gibril Wilson, who missed Monday’s light workout, was back in pads as was linebacker Joey Porter, who missed Sunday’s game for disciplinary reasons. Team spokesman Harvey Greene said Sparano was treating Tuesday’s practice as a Friday workout, meaning it would be shorter and less physical than a typical midweek practice session. The team is scheduled to go through a walkthrough Wednesday that won’t be open to the media, then leave for Charlotte later in the day.
