What a dog. And we’re talking about a guy. His name is Dennis J. Casanova, 27. He and Jennifer Kandarge, 44, met at the Emperors Gentleman’s Club. They spent the night dancing and drinking. About 2:30 a.m., Kandarge invited Casanova back to her place. At her house in Holiday, Kandarge told Casanova she had to go to the bathroom and would be right back. He said he had to get something from his truck outside. But when she returned from the bathroom, he was missing, and so was Romeo, her 9-week-old red-nosed pit bull. The next morning, she got a text message: “Hey I’m sorry I was wasted made a mad mistake! Ill bring your dog.” When Casanova headed to

his truck outside Kandarge’s home that night, the puppy followed him to the door, he said. So he picked him up and walked out with him. “I don’t even know — I was just drunk and wasn’t thinking,” he later told the St. Petersburg Times . “I had no reason for it.” Kandarge got the dog back. “He did the right thing,” Kandarge said. She says she told the Sheriff’s Office to drop it. But the deputies were not as forgiving to Casanova. They arrested Casanova was and charged him with grand theft. But here’s what we want to know.
