Robbery puts three Pasco schools on lockdown

BAYONET POINT — Three Pasco County schools went into lockdown mode Monday afternoon while sheriff’s deputies investigated an armed robbery case at a nearby Walgreen’s at 10401 Little Road Road.

The suspect, described as a 6-foot-tall redheaded man in his early 20s, ran from the pharmacy headed westbound on Jasmine Boulevard. School district officials decided to secure the Fox Hollow Elementary, Schrader Elementary

and Bayonet Point Middle school campuses as a precaution.

“It’s preventative,” said Lizette Alexander, director of student services. “It was a community issue. We always act with good judgment and keep our kids safe.” Students were not allowed out of classrooms unescorted, and entry to the schools was limited. The lockdown lasted about 80 minutes.
