Residents can return after Zephyrhills brushfire

ZEPHYRHILLS — A group of residents at the Kozy Acres mobile home park are allowed to return to their homes after an overnight brushfire forced them to evacuate their homes, Pasco County Fire Rescue officials said.

No injuries were reported when the brushfires ignited in a rural area in Zephyrhills just after 3 a.m. Zephyrhills Fire Rescue Chief Keith Williams said about 25 to

30 acres burned. The land was an old dairy farm property that is destined for development, he said.

Firefighters with Pasco County Fire Rescue and the Zephyrhills Fire station responded. The agencies say the fire is now extinguished.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
