Ohhh, ouch! This sounds worse than any horror movie plot line. A Pasco County woman was getting a colonoscopy when something terrible happened. The sedation wore off. So the 61-year-old woman, now feeling what was going on, wanted the doc to stop the procedure. But gastroenterologist Kozhimala John didn’t. And the nurse tried to shush her. The doctor said he was almost done, and he wasn’t sure whether she was thinking clearly because of the drugs.

The state….uh….probed the case but nothing much stuck. Ultimately, the doctor was charged only with inadequate record-keeping for failing to document the many ways the colonoscopy went awry, reports Health News Florida. Yeah, awry indeed.
