Palm Beach County jury awards injured woman $866,000

“Her dancing has decreased by 95 percent”

For 3 1 2 years, 23-year-old Bonny Heidtman attended over 200 physical therapy sessions to treat neck and back injuries suffered in a 2004 car wreck. But her insurer, State Farm, refused to pay her policy limit of $50,000 because they didn’t believe Heidtman’s injuries were accident related, according to attorney David Prather. On Wednesday, a Palm Beach County jury disagreed and awarded Heidtman $866,000.

‘State Farm tried to say she didn’t have any injuries, that an MRI showed there was nothing she wouldn’t have had since she had been dancing since the age of three,’ Prather said. ‘She

was in an organized dance troupe and did things like jazz and tap. They said they were natural findings consistent with someone who had been dancing since she was a young child. Apparently the jurors didn’t buy it.’ Read more
