The crisis in Haiti is the focus of the Palm Beach County Democratic Party’s Feb. 4 meeting. The group plans to get a live update, via a web video connection, from a representative of the Democratic Executive Committee who has remained in Haiti since the Jan. 12 earthquake. Other scheduled speakers at the meeting include: Haitian-American Democratic leader Jacques LaFontant, Dr. Diane Allerdyce of the Toussaint L`Ouverture High School for Arts and Social Justice in Boynton Beach, and Democratic Haitian American Caucus of Florida

President Evelyn Garcia. The group meets at 7 p.m. at the administrative building of Temple Emeth, at 5780 West Atlantic Avenue, west of Delray Beach. Palm Beach County Democratic Party Chair Mark Siegel issued a written release saying: “This program, as part of our regular meeting, is the start of our organization’s long-term commitment to support the victims and the rebuilding that must take place there.”
