Mobile home fire injures elderly Tarpon Springs woman

TARPON SPRINGS — Arson detectives are investigating the cause of a mobile home fire that sent an elderly woman to the hospital late Tuesday.

Lira Lopez, 76, was treated for smoke inhalation after her residence at the Sun Country Mobile Home Park, 799 E Klosterman Road, erupted in

flames, according to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Lopez was taken to Helen Ellis Hospital in Tarpon Springs. Officials said her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

No other injuries were reported.
