Here’s a good one. A guy who’s accused of repeatedly checking a 16-year-old’s breasts says he had his reasons. He was checking her out for breast cancer. That’s Vernon Leroy Eveland’s story. The 41-year-old Fort Walton Beach man has been charged with a sex offense against a child, fondling a victim less than 16 years old and lewd and lascivious exhibition. The girl told investigators Eveland had grabbed her breasts and exposed himself to her on numerous occasions — telling her that he was checking her for breast cancer. Eveland told the cops that the breast cancer examinations

were visual only and denied touching the girl, reports the Northwest Florida Daily News . He also said that he’d gotten a “little rough” with her after he’d been drinking one night but didn’t remember the details. We’re fine with that. We’ve heard enough.
