Is this a leftover script from Dukes of Hazzard? We’ve got a high speed chase and places named Otter Creek and Horse Hold Mud Bog. And we’ve got Philip Pennypacker, 22, an Otter Creek guy, who led officers on a two-county chase at speeds up to 135 mph. Finally, thank goodness, his car ran out of gas in Levy County before he killed someone. Why’d he do it? When he realized officers had spotted the dark Ford Mustang with front-end damage he was driving, he decided not to stop because he felt “tipsy” and “scared,” according to reports from the Alachua and Levy county sheriff’s offices, reports the Gainesville Sun. wasn’t trying to hurt anyone. Besides, he also said he had watched a lot of cop shows and maybe that’s why he ran. At the Horse Hold Mud Bog, a Levy County deputy was putting out more stop sticks. Officers reported Pennypacker aimed his vehicle at the deputy but then continued on at about 115 mph. “Once I knew I was going to jail, I decided to have some fun,” the Sheriff’s Office reported Pennypacker said.
