Man gets slapped with fine for feeding slap-happy bear

Ernest Stamm, 49, told authorities last December that when he opened the door to his Lonwood home a bear slapped him. Emergency crews arrived and found a bear in his front yard. Stamm was treated and released at a hospital for facial cuts. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission euthanized a bear they believed to be the slapping bear the next day.

They also found evidence that Stamm had put out or left out food that had attracted bears. Stamm got slapped with a $200 fine and was ordered to serve six months’ probation for feeding wildlife, reports MyFoxOrlando.com . Photo: Ernest David Stamm More FloriDUH
