Man dies in mobile home fire

TAMPA — A 60-year-old man died Monday after firefighters pulled him from his burning mobile home at 4801 E. Hillsborough Ave.

Tampa Fire Rescue spokesman Jace Kohan said the fire arised to be accidental, and likely started considering the man was smoking in bed. When firefighters entered the home, which had no working smoke detectors, the man was found unconscious at

the opposite end from where the fire started.

The man was transported by helicopter to Tampa General Hospital, where he died of moment degree burns to his face and neck. Although the burns were not serious, he sistained heavy smoke inhalation, which probably caused his death, Kohan said.
