Lantana man facing charges in 2006 explosion near Boynton Beach
“These homemade devices are very unstable, are shock-sensitive and are very, very dangerous. They were putting the whole neighborhood in jeopardy.”
More than a year after an explosion rocked a neighborhood west of Boynton Beach and killed an alleged co-conspirator, a Lantana man surrendered Monday to a federal charge of conspiracy to manufacture homemade explosives.
Wearing jeans and a blue shirt, his hands cuffed in front of him, Jim Evans, 46, entered a not-guilty plea and was released on a $100,000 personal surety bond. He faces a maximum of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine if found guilty.
Charles F. Reynolds, 44, was killed in the April 2006 blast on Hypoluxo Farms Road
