Tuesday, April 7th, the Franklin County Board of County Commissioners for potentially a variety of reasons voted to rescind/repeal the FLUM (Future Land Use Map) amendments originally granted by them to, developer/mega-land owner, the St. Joe Co. which would have established six new towns in eastern Franklin County. Okay, it is only one part of the State but it is pretty big land use news because the St. Joe Company has a lot of clout. According to the St. Pete Times: “When Florida land was dirt-cheap in the 1920s, the (St. Joe) company bought up more than 1-million acres.” On their webiste they say 600,000 acres.
