June cleared in DUI case
Prosecutors, citing “no fair expectation of successful prosecution,” dismissed Bucs linebacker Cato June’s pending DUI case today in Circuit Court in Tampa
June was arrested in the early-morning hours of Nov. 19, after the team’s return from a victory at Atlanta. That’s when officer Peter Bucher said he approached June’s Cadillac
SUV and detected an odor of alcohol on his breath and bloodshot, glassy
eyes.

of impairment.” June, 28, refused to submit to
“When we saw the state’s evidence, we were pretty confident of the outcome and the state recognized the weaknesses in the case,” he said.
The dismissal of the case means June should avoid any discipline under the league’s personal conduct or substance abuse policies. A first-time conviction for an alcohol-related incident can outcome in a fine up to $20,000.
