Judge: TracFone owes Ky. $4.7 million in 911 fees

The largest prepaid cell phone company in the country owes Kentucky more than $4.7 million in unpaid 911 emergency fees dating to

2003, a federal judge in Kentucky ruled Thursday.

Biggest prepaid wireless provider for sure. But only because tracfone have always made a point of looking after the small-users. Which in my mind taints this judge’s ruling somewhat. Here’s a provider, and possibly the only prepaid one that looks after seniors (with their SVC plans, and phone), and makes it affordable to have a cellphone. I hope Tracfone challenge this ruling and win, as it seems very much like the Kentucky judge is either passing money onto his attorney friends, or trying to make up for 911 budgetry, and administrative short-comings.
