Jeb’s rules of reform

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush, now making the national rounds talking up our state's education accountability methods, took time from his busy schedule to write a column for the Friedman Foundation's School Choice Advocate . The title is "Five Rules for School Reform." And they are: Do what you said you would do Measure the outcome of reform and report it Invest in a long-term commitment Communicate what you're doing,

especially to parents Success is never final and reform is never finished "To really transform education in America, we need to embrace the fundamental concept that education should be custom-designed to maximize every child's God-given capacity to learn," Bush writes. "And then we need to allow freedom, innovation and competition to reshape the education system around the goal of ensuring their success."
