Ah, alcohol. Liquid courage, as they say. Look what it did for a drunken dude from Brookhaven, Miss., while he was in Florida. The 19-year-old climbed to the top of a 150-feet tall billboard in the parking lot of a Destin Waffle House. Then he passed out on the top catwalk, according to his Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report He did it by first climbing onto an electrical box, then jumping 15 feet to the ladder that leads to the sign, reports the Northwest Florida Daily News . Response Team arrived and sent several firefighters up onto that catwalk. They lowered him to the ground in a basket since he was too drunk to climb down. Portions of U.S. Highway 98 were shut down as well as the Waffle House parking lot. The restaurant’s manager said his business was affected by the man’s actions. Firefighters were also put at risk, the report noted. He was charged with disorderly intoxication. When he sobered up, he told the cops he likes to climb things. Next time, try a mountain.
