House committee moves to ban Internet cafes

TALLAHASSEE — A House committee, by a 10-5 vote, moved to ban Internet cafes across the state, as both the House and Senate debate whether to completely rid the state of the sweepstakes cafes or to regulate them. Rep. Scott Plakon , R-Longwood, proposed banning the electronic gaming cafes last year, but the legislation did not make it through the process.
