Holy Land gets a holy tax break. Praise be to capitalism!

A holy experience? Sounds like hellish capitalism to us. Here’s the deal: Holy Land Experience is a religion-based theme park in Orlando owned by Trinity Broadcasting Network. It’s required to drop its normal $35 ticket price and offer free admission one day each year. Why? That’s in exchange for a property-tax exemption that saves it about $300,000 annually, according to a 2006 state law designed to guarantee the exemption. But nobody has an inkling when

the “free day” occurs. Why? Because Holy Land Experience doesn’t want you to know. Word is, it’s concerned over a possible “uncontrollable situation.” The only way to find out for sure is to watch the local TBN station, WTGL-TV58, reports the Orlando Sentinel. Can you say “Holy Marketplace?” Photo: Holy Land Experience More FloriDUH
