Forget the game! Super Bowl fun’s on the beach, in the streets and behind the velvet rope

Is Super Bowl XLIV really about football? Is it about the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts ? Nah! It’s about hotties. And celebs, like Jim Carrey and Rihanna and Kim Kardashian . And free concerts on the beach . So, you’re a mortal with less disposable cash than you used to, where do you go? Well, it’s all here in the Page2Live guide to Super Bowl fun. Believe or not, the frenzy already starts Thursday night, 10 days before the actual game, with a fashion show at the W Hotel in Miami Beach . The threads will be mostly swimwear, and the barely dressed bodies those of NFL cheerleaders. It’s one of the Miami Dolphins ‘ contributions, along surrendering the team’s practice facility and stadium locker-room to the Colts. Also this week, downtown Delray Beach has a three-day NFL sanctioned kick-off, starting Thursday. The highlight? Friday’s beachside meet-and-greet with a dozen NFLers. Organizers are promising to produce Pierre Garcon , the Colts’ breakout receiver and a graduate from John I. Leonard High School in Greenacres. Fans, meanwhile, will converge on several other hot spots during Super Bowl week. Check them out below, or by clicking The Fan Zone opens Feb. 1 on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. In addition to the ESPN sound stage, there’ll be a variety of happenings, including a football memorabilia exhibit, and huge crowds. The fan zone starts under a 23-foot arch dubbed Champion Arch, a sculpture made of recycled steel from the old Orange Bowl. That area will also be one of the week’s musical centers, with a beach concert by red-hot songbird Rihanna and teen sensation Justin Bieber scheduled for Feb. 4. Nelly Furtado and Paulina Rubio headline the Latin-flavored night Feb. 5, same stage. Jim Carrey A novelty: Despite the fact that Miami Beach historically was the fun focal point of the nine other super bowls here, Fort Lauderdale Beach will be hopping. Most NFL hotels are located on the famed three-mile strip. From the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort, home to the Colts, north to the Atlantic Hotel, where officials with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers are staying, there’ll be plenty foot traffic. Lauderdale Beach will be another hangout for music lovers, with a Barenaked Ladies show on Super Bowl Saturday. Another Lauderdale attraction for some will be the press center, at the Broward County Convention Center. It’ll be fertile hunting grounds for autograph hounds. Why? Just about every football legend, movie or TV actor with

something to sell, or  something to say, will make his obligatory pass by the center. On Feb. 3, meanwhile, some of the action will be on the water. There’s a fishing tournament to honor William Bleakley , Marquis Cooper , Corey Smith and Nick Schuyler . Oakland Raiders star Cooper, Smith and Bleakley died last year when their boat capsized off Florida’s west coast. Proceeds — there’ll be plenty since getting on a boat with a yet-to-be-determined celebrity will set you back $2,000 — will go to charities designated by the victims’ families. Want golf? Can do. On Super Bowl Saturday, meanwhile, duffers will be taking on the Blue Monster at the Doral, in Miami, to benefit NFL Charities. Regular Joes with $1,500 will be able to duke it out with NFL hall-of-famers and current players, including former New York Giants Lawrence Taylor and Harry Carson , and former Dolphins Larry Little and Paul Warfield . The same crew, by the way, is scheduled to bowl for charity the previous night, Feb. 5, at SpareZ Lanes in Davie. The big screen stars? There’ll be here. Starting with Oscar winner Jamie Foxx . Forming an unlikely pair, former Chicago Bears head coach Mike Ditka and Foxx — who’s no footballer but played one in Oliver Stone ’s On Any Given Sunday — will be hosting a Feb. 5 party together at the Miami Beach Ritz-Carlton. Rubber-faced funnyman Jim Carrey returns to the scene of his breakout flick, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective , to entertain VIPs on Feb. 6.  He and his live-in, Internet pinup Jenny McCarthy , are hosting a party and charity poker tournament at the Bank of America building downtown Miami. And two days before New Orleans running-back Reggie Bush takes to the field, his main squeeze, reality TV’s Kim Kardashian , along with former Hugh Hefner galpal and Playboy model Holly Madison and model Roselyn Sanchez , are having another wingding dubbed Leather & Lace at the Paris Theatre downtown Miami. Speaking of Playboy , the glossy’s fiesta — think body-painted nude ladies, a pirate’s bounty of booze and soft lighting — takes place at the Sagamore Hotel in Miami Beach. Tickets are going for $1,000 each. Oh, yes! And there’s a football game. Does anybody care? Until then, keep coming back to Page2Live for daily updates, starting Thursday.
