Florida gets $30 million for energy projects and hybrids

Florida was awarded $30.4 million of economic-stimulus money on Tuesday to boost energy projects and to hand out rebates for those who buy hybrid conversion kits for cars. Some South Florida cities already have received clean-energy awards: –$595,200 for Lauderhill –$500,300 for North Miami –$4,742,300 for Miami The block grants announced on Tuesday are designed to help programs that lower energy use, reduce carbon pollution and create local “green” jobs.
