Firefighters contain Sun City Center brush blaze

TAMPA — Hillsborough firefighters have restricted a 30-acre blaze in the area of Little Manatee State Park.

The fire started around 4:20 p.m. and has brought out about 30 Hillsborough Fire Rescue workers. The Division of Forestry dug a plow line around the perimeter of the fire to contain it.

Though

there are homes on the north side of the Little Manatee River, no homes seem to be threatened, Hillsborough Fire Rescue spokesman Ray Yeakley said.

"We’re just going to allow it to burn itself out," Yeakley said.
