ESPN ranks Dolphins behind 60 professional, 14 NFL franchises, but it’s progress
Talk about average. But it’s better than being horrible. Despite a historic turnaround and AFC East title in 2008, the Miami Dolphins remain in the middle of the pack as an NFL and sports franchise, according to ESPN The Magazine’s seventh annual Ultimate Standings report. ESPN The Mag ranks the Dolphins 61st among 122 major North American professional sports franchises and 15th out of 32 NFL teams – or basically right in the middle of each list. Among AFC East rivals this year, Miami rank second to the Patriots (19th overall), while the Bills (91st) and Jets (103rd) have a long way to go. Last year, the Dolphins ranked last in the division.
