A 4-month-old baby girl was abandoned for two hours in a stroller in bushes near the Universal Studios employee parking lot late Saturday night while her drunken father searched for her drunken mother, according to Orlando police. An off-duty Orlando police officer working at Universal Studios was dispatched to the parking lot because a woman was trespassing in the lot. The officer found the woman, later identified as Ashley Gaskin, the child’s mother. He issued her a trespass warning and took her to the security office, reports the Orlando Sentinel . She didn’t mention anything about the baby. Later, Gaskin’s live-in boyfriend and the infant’s father, Charles Gohde, 29, arrived at the security office and started questioning Gaskin about the baby. “He immediately asked Gaskin where their baby was,” according to the report. “Gaskin got hysterical and began crying and yelling, stating

“My baby! My baby!” Gohde ran from the security team. He later told officers he ran back to their home to check with a neighbor to see if the child had been left there, the report said. In the meantime, another Universal Studios employee alerted police that he found the missing child. Police said both Gohde and the mother smelled strongly of alcohol and had been drinking. Records show Gohde has several prior arrests, including a 2006 DUI charge. Gohde was charged with child neglect without great bodily harm. Gaskin was not charged. The child is now in the custody of the Department of Children and Families, police said. Photo; Charles Gohde (Orange County Jail / March 15, 2010) More FloriDUH
