Dolphins name Kaleb Thornhill new Director of Player Development

The Miami Dolphins have announced Kaleb Thornhill is the team’s new Director of Player Development. Thornhill, who previously worked for the Detroit Lions, will assist players in a number of areas off the field, including the transition process both into and out of the NFL. Also as noted by the Web site Pro Football Talk , several Dolphins players have run afoul of the law in the past year, including Randy Starks, Tony McDaniel and Will Allen. Thornhill replaces John Gamble. Gamble had been with the Dolphins for 16 seasons but recently joined the Buffalo Bills as co-head strength and conditioning

coach to pave the way for Thornhill’s hiring. Thornhill has an impressive resume and pedigree. He was a four-time All-Academic Big Ten Selection as a middle linebacker at Michigan State and served as team captain in 2007. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in human resources and a Master’s in kinesiology, with an concentration in sports administration. Thornhill’s late father, Charlie, played on Michigan State’s back-to-back Big Ten championship teams in 1965-66, while his brother, Josh, was a four year starter at linebacker for the Spartans from 1998-2001.
