Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter returns to practice

(Updated: Porter listed as probable for Sunday’s visit from Tampa Bay. Left guard Justin Smiley (shoulder), linebacker Erik Walden (hamstring) and nose tackle Paul Soliai (ankle) are doubtful, while tight end Anthony Fasano (hip) is questionable.) DAVIE – Looking to get a disappointing season on track, linebacker Joey Porter returned to practice Friday after missing the past two days with a sore knee. Porter’s status for Sunday’s visit from Tampa Bay remains to be seen, but Porter has made so little impact of late the Dolphins might not miss him anyway. Porter, 32, hasn’t had a full sack since Sept. 27 at San Diego and has 2 1/2 sacks this season, or nine below the pace he set a season ago when he had 11 1/2 sacks through the first eight games. He also has just 12 tackles. Meanwhile, Smiley and Walden did not practice again. Soliai was back on the field during individual drills.
