A bad game, even an embarrassing one, isn’t going to change Dolphins’ loose-lipped linebacker Joey Porter. “Never, never,” he said. “I’m going to be me. That’s the good thing you have to like about me. Win, lose or draw I’m going to tell it like it.” It just took awhile this time. Porter clearly has been smarting since Sunday’s zero-tackle, zero-tackle performance in a loss at New England. Porter avoided South Florida media all week and waited until his weekly appearance Thursday on the NFL Network to discussed his no-show against New England. “Even me I know after you loss a game and you don’t perform at some point in time you have to take a step back,” he said. Porter’s O-fer came after he’d made several negative comments last week about the Patriots. Leading up to a 27-17 loss, Porter called the three-time Super Bowl winners cheaters; said he had had “natural hate” for them going back to his days in Pittsburgh; and said NFL officials protected quarterback Tom Brady, whose season-ending knee injury in 2008 led the league to amend the rule about hitting quarterbacks below the knees.
