Dolphins linebacker Jason Taylor fined $5,000 for illegal hit

The NFL confirmed it has fined linebacker Jason Taylor $5,000 for an illegal hit on Buffalo quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick during the second quarter of last Sunday’s loss to the Bills. Taylor was called for roughing the passer and flagged for 15 yards after he hit Fitzpatrick in the head following a screen pass on 2nd-and-4 to running back Fred Jackson. The play picked up 17 yards. South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Taylor, Joey Porter and the Dolphins linebackers struggled to contain Fitzpatrick all day. Fitzpatrick, making just his 19th NFL start, rushed for 50 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7-all. He also had an 8-yard gain on a bootleg on 4th-and-1 to keep alive a scoring drive when the Bills trailed 14-7 late the third quarter of an eventual 31-14 rout.
