Democratic governor candidate Alex Sink lands endorsement from leading Palm Beach County Republican

Kimberly Mitchell, president of the West Palm Beach City commission and a prominent Palm Beach County Republican, is supporting Democratic candidate for governor Alex Sink. “Alex Sink has the experience and problem-solving approach that we need in our next governor,” Mitchell said in a statement released by the Sink campaign. “Sink understands the needs of Florida’s business owners and will make sure the Florida’s small businesses have the right support to thrive and grow.” Mitchell is the daughter of another prominent Palm Beach

County Republican, the high-powered lobbyist Anita Mitchell. Sink’s list of Republican supporters, released Tuesday, also includes Orlando City Councilman Tony Ortiz, Okeechobee County Sheriff Paul May, Bradenton Mayor Wayne Poston, Aventura City Commissioner Luz Weinberg, Ft. Pierce Mayor Bob Benton, Palmetto Commissioner Brian Williams, Belleair Commissioner Tom Shelly, Atlantic Beach Mayor Mike Borno, and Ocala City Council Member Mary Rich.
