Gov. Charlie Crist and his wife, Carole Rome, will attend Rosh Hashanah services Wednesday evening at Congregation B’nai Israel in Boca Raton. Here’s Crist’s Rosh Hashanah statement: “During this most sacred time of year, I offer heartfelt wishes to Florida’s Jewish community. Through thoughtful meditation, we have a chance to evoke the best in ourselves and renew our commitment to self-discovery. “Rosh Hashanah is a time of great reflection, which I hope leads to health and happiness throughout the Jewish New Year of 5771. I also

pray that the observance of Rosh Hashanah brings great blessings to our state and nation. “The bond between Florida and Israel is exceptional. As always, I remain committed to strengthening our special relationship and deepening our cultural and economic ties. “To all Floridians observing the High Holy Days, I wish you a happy and healthy New Year. May you and your loved ones be inscribed in the Book of Life. L’shanah tova!”
