Countryside H.S. parents warned of death threats

CLEARWATER — A Countryside High School student who posted threats to classmates on the Internet has been removed from school, said Andrea Zahn, spokeswoman for Pinellas County Public Schools.

The student is not being identified, Zahn said, and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is continuing an investigation into the threats. Zahn said parents were told of the threats last night though a phone notification system. Staff members were made aware of the situation at a meeting Wednesday.

Judy Vesey, an English teacher and yearbook adviser at Countryside, said principal Gary

Schlereth told the faculty that the student, who he didn’t name, posted death threats on YouTube.com.
