Confederate park opens — are we still fighting that war?

The Civil War ended almost 150 years ago. But we’re still fightin’ it. The latest chapter: the Florida Confederate Sons just dedicated the Hillsborough County Confederate Memorial Park. It’s at I-275 and I-4 in Tampa, the spot where the large controversial Confederate flag went up last year, reports 10connects.com David McAllister, who is with the Confederate Sons, says he thinks the park fulfills the dream of people who

want to see their ancestors honored and Southern culture appreciated in Tampa. McAllister and other members of the group say the flag has nothing to do with slavery or hatred. Many in the area, particularly in the African-American community, have said the flag promotes intolerance. What do you say? More FloriDUH

I support the flag and I want to honor those brave troops When we honor WW II vets do we ask…are we still fighting the war? Of course not. I’m not afraid to say these brave men and women of the south stood up to an evil government. Just like today… THE U.S. Federal Government has never been so corrupt! The American people need to stand up and refuse to let our rights be taken away.

We can not take away our rights because it hurts someones feelings…… If you dont like the flag than look the other way… Do you really want to start to legislate peoples feelings?????? Just remember all 300 million Americans have things that offend them. Should we ban all of those things???? We would have no rights… I wish we had brave men like the Confederates today.
