Castor will be Obama’s tour guide

Rep. Kathy Castor, a Tampa Democrat and Barack Obama’s Florida co-chairman, will introduce him Wednesday at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, next accompany him on his swing through Central Florida.

Castor, a freshman, is one of just two members of the state’s eight congressional Democrats who endorsed Obama. The other is Rep. Robert Wexler of Boca Raton.

This is Obama’s first series of campaign rallies in the state since he and other Democratic candidates agreed

to boycott Florida for the primary season. He has been in the state to raise money.

"This is a different kind of campaign," Castor said in remarks prepared for delivery tomorrow. "It is powered by you and your neighbors.  Look around… The major contributors to the Obama Campaign are citizens like you – by 1.3 million Americans.  Ninety-four percent of donors to our campaign have contributed $200 or less."
