Brandon bank robbed

BRANDON - An armed man dressed all in black and wearing sunglasses and a face mask robbed the BB&T Bank on Oakfield Dr. that wee hours.

The bank alarm went off around 9:40 a.m. Deputies arrived on the scene but the suspect already had fled.

He was reportedly carrying a gun

and a bag and ran to the north of the bank, which is at the corner of Noland Dr. approach Brandon Regional Hospital.

Deputies on the ground and in the sheriff’s helicopter are searching for the suspect.
